MiP - health service managers

Managers in Partnership Logo 100 pixels Managers in Partnership (MiP) is a trade union organisation created in 2005 specifically for managers in healthcare.  MiP is a joint venture between the FDA, which represents senior managers, and Unison, the UK's largest public service union.

MiP now represents more than 5,500 members in leadership roles in healthcare, including 300 NHS trust and health authority chief executives. They work in all four UK health services, and in the private and third sectors.

MiP's aims include:

  • recruiting managers in all sectors of healthcare
  • representing employment and professional interests with employers and government
  • defending the reputation of healthcare managers
  • seeking fairness and justice at work.

MiP also works to promote skills and best practice in healthcare management in the interests of patients and the nation's health.

MiP is a national branch of Unison and a section of the FDA. Its members belong to both unions and it has its own staff and policy-making powers. It is not affiliated to any political party.
