Today the FDA welcomed Lord Fraser's report on the building of the new Scottish parliament at Holyrood and fully endorsed its recommendations.
FDA Scottish Secretary Jim Caldwell said: "This has been a salutary experience for all involved. We fully accept the report's conclusions that this project suffered from mismanagement on a number of levels - from ministers down through the civil service."
"We fully endorse the report's recommendations which will make an important contribution to ensure what happened at Holyrood won't be repeated. We will work closely with the Scottish Executive on the lessons to be learned."
The FDA also welcomed First Minister Jack MacConnell's commitment to invest in specialist skills for civil servants, which he mentioned in his response to the report.
