Jeff Chandra - Good Hope Hospital NHS Trust - 24 October 2003

We are pleased to announce that we have been able to reach a settlement in relation to the employment issues surrounding the former Chief Executive of Good Hope Hospital NHS Trust. Sir Bernard Zissman on behalf of the Trust said: "This has been a difficult period for all concerned. Mr Chandra was courteous and professional in a role which is one of the most challenging roles within the public sector. I am pleased that both the Hospital and Mr Chandra can now look ahead, we all wish Mr Chandra well for the future." Jeff Chandra said: "I am relieved that we have been able to reach an agreement. This has been a very difficult year for me and my family. I hope to be able to resume my career soon". Mr Chandra has been supported throughout the past year by his union the FDA. Paul Whiteman the FDA's Head of Health said: "The agreement was the best way forward for Mr Chandra and the Trust. It is a shame that the lack of an agreement regarding the procedure for dealing with these circumstances has led to such a difficult time for all involved." Ends Notes for Editors 1.
