The FDA today welcomed the introduction of a code of conduct for NHS managers, announced by chief executive of the Department of Health and NHS Nigel Crisp, in his speech to the Institute of Health Care Management today. The union has been consulted during the drafting process and is pleased that many of the amendments suggested have been amalgamated into the final code. Paul Whiteman, the FDA's NHS spokesman said: "We are pleased that the code contains rights as well as responsibilities. We very much hope that these rights will carry the same weight as the responsibilities and that the code will not become a tool used to remove managers that no longer hold political favour".
