The FDA today gave an undertaking to co-operate fully with the government's review of the UK's organisations dealing with tax policy and administration. The FDA represents senior managers and tax inspectors in both the Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise. FDA general secretary Jonathan Baume said: "The Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise are huge departments with a large number of staff, so it is very important that the review is thorough and undertaken in a measured fashion. This is an exercise that should be carried out to achieve genuine results for more effective service delivery - not done in haste. "We welcome the government's commitment to consult fully with the unions and look forward to working constructively with the review over the coming months." Ends Notes for Editors 1.
