Around 125 delegates attended the most recent Getting Out to Get On conference, held on Thursday 31 March in central London. The conference was organised by the FDA in partnership with ACAS, Dods and outplacement company Fairplace, and examined the opportunities for civil servants in the third and private sectors, as well as providing some information on self-employment. Speakers included Ruth Bravery, a former HMRC employee now working as director of volunteering at Marie Curie Cancer Care; and civil servant turned self-employed consultant Maggie King.

Neil Rider, manager of FDA Learn - the FDA's skills project - said: "These seminars are extremely well-received and demand is high. A further London event has already been arranged for 16 June."
