The FDA attended a senior leaders' networking event at the Driving Standards Agency Headquarters in Nottingham on Friday 20 November.
Cabinet secretary Sir Gus O'Donnell gave the keynote speech and Rosemary Thew, chief executive of the Driving Standards Agency, also spoke.
Neil Rider, manager of the FDA's Professional Skills for Government project, and Tony Shaw from Westminster Explained ran an interactive workshop entitled, 'Delivering More for Less - the People Challenge'.
Throughout the day the FDA also had an information stand. Sacha Dutta, the union's organiser, and Liz McCarten from CareerWorks - the FDA's careers coaching partner - spoke to attendees about joining the FDA, and how the union can help senior managers devise plans for staff success and progression.
Dutta said: "This event has enabled us to show SCS colleagues how helpful the FDA can be, not only with traditional trade union benefits such as personal representation, but also with helping people professionally in their day-to-day roles."
