The FDA has responded today in the media to Prime Minister Gordon Brown's announcement of the pay freeze for members of the Senior Civil Service (SCS) and senior NHS managers.
In media appearances on the BBC News Channel, ITV News, Sky News and BBC Radio 4's World at One, Jonathan Baume, the FDA's general secretary, said the union was critical of the Government's decision but not surprised. Baume also said it was disappointing that the Government had rejected the Senior Salaries Review Body's recommendation to raise the minimum pay for SCS members to address structural discrimination.
