The FDA has responded robustly to comments by former Welsh finance minister Andrew Davies about the union in a news article in the Western Mail.
In a letter in today's Western Mail, Paul Neilson, FDA national officer representing members in Wales, says: "I am surprised by Andrew Davies' comments regarding the First Division Association, which changed its name to the FDA in 2001.
"I am further surprised that he seems unaware that, as well as representing the senior civil service, we also represent other civil service grades and have indeed done so in several meetings with him when he was finance minister."
