FDA responds to the Government's proposed pay freeze

The FDA responded immediately and robustly to the announcement by Chancellor Alastair Darling that the Government is recommending a pay freeze for SCS members for 2010-11 in its evidence to the Senior Salaries Review Body (SSRB).

FDA general secretary Jonathan Baume appeared last night and today on television, radio, online and in the press condemning the move. Below is a link to this morning's BBC Radio 4 Today programme. Links to other articles can be found by clicking on FDA in the Media.

Dave Penman, FDA head of operations, said: "The FDA believes this proposal would amount to a reneging on the deal struck in 2008 which was worth 7% over three years. It comes on top of the Government's refusal to honour in full the SSRB's recommendations for pay in 2009-10."
