Taking Ownership of Your Career was the title of an all-day session organised by the FDA and attended by 15 Land Registry members on 22 June. The event, which took place at HM Land Registry's head office in Lincoln's Inn Fields in central London, was led by Career Works manager Liz McCarten and career coach Nick Harris. In lively sessions, participants took a broad look at what they want in their working life, and how they would be able to get it.
Members in HM Land Registry currently face enormous change - the imminent closure of several offices and the merger of others are forcing members to take a hard look at their careers, when faced with possible job loss.
As part of an FDA recruitment month initiative, non-members were invited to join the delegates at lunchtime to find out about the FDA and its ongoing work to help members in the department.
FDA organiser Sacha Dutta said: "Feedback from the day was positive. The hope is that this kind of session can be set up for more of our members in HM Land Registry, and indeed beyond."
