Colin McAllister, climate change training manager at the Met Office, addressed more than 30 FDA delegates at a climate change seminar held on 5 February at the union's London head office.
Neil Rider, manager of the FDA's Professional Skills for Government project, said: "There has been very enthusiastic feedback from delegates at the climate change seminar. Those who attended certainly felt that the link between learning and the sustainability agenda was a clear one and, as a union, this is an area where we need to engage.
"Fifteen delegates - new to union activity - have expressed interest in taking up a role in developing this work."
