Regional Unlocking the SCS event to be held in Manchester on 8 December 2009

The FDA - in conjunction with the Cabinet Office, Government Skills and Westminster Explained - is to hold a regional Unlocking the SCS event in Manchester on 8 December 2009, immediately after Civil Service Live Manchester on 7 December.

The FDA event will build on the success of the London Unlocking the SCS event held earlier this year in June and is aimed at addressing the concerns of staff below the SCS who are uncertain about their career path.

Neil Rider, manager of the FDA's Professional Skills for Government project, said: "This is part of the FDA's commitment to deliver for members outside of London. We have arranged this event in response to a significant number of requests for an Unlocking the SCS event out of London. The event will immediately follow Civil Service Live Manchester and we hope that members will want to book places at both events.

"We are delighted that FDA general Secretary Jonathan Baume is a confirmed speaker. Details of other speakers, the venue and how to book will be communicated to members as soon as they become available."
