An FDA delegation of five, plus one visitor, attended the 2011 TUC LGBT Conference in central London on 30 June and 1 July.
Delegates heard debates on a wide range of subjects, including the effect of Government cuts on the LGBT community, issues around LGBT rights in the UK and abroad, and concerns about homophobia and transphobia in schools and the wider society.
The FDA submitted a motion about the case of a gay couple who were refused a hotel room because they were not married, which led to a lively debate and was carried overwhelmingly.
More detailed reports from delegates and visitors can be read at 2011 TUC LGBT Conference reports.
