The FDA held a skills and learning seminar on 22 January at the Marriott Hotel County Hall in central London. The morning session was devoted to looking at the Government's qualifications strategy, facility management as a profession and opportunities for the FDA's involvement in skills development in the justice sector.
Neil Rider, manager of the FDA's Professional Skills for Government project, said: "The FDA is looking at how we can contribute to increasing the professionalism of procurement in the civil service at all levels.
"We are also looking to work with Skills for Justice, the sector skills council for the justice sector. And we have appointed Emma Garnett to lead this work."
Rider added: "There are funding opportunities if we work with employers and we have also received support from the TUC to help us over the coming year with this work."
