Seminar looks at opportunities beyond the public sector

Around 60 delegates attended the Getting Out to Get On seminar, which was held on Tuesday 11 January in central London. The seminar, organised by the FDA in partnership with ACAS, outplacement company Fairplace and Dods, examined the opportunities for civil servants in the third and private sectors.

Neil Rider, manager of the FDA's skills project, said: "Delegates came from the civil service, local government and the health sector, and from quangos that are being cut. Speakers - including Fairplace chief executive Mike Moran, and consultant Richard Hillsdon, were well-received. It is particularly pleasing that delegate feedback shows an overall 80% rating for the day."
