An FDA delegation of six attended the 2011 TUC Women's Conference, from 9 to 11 March in Eastbourne.

Affiliated unions submitted motions on a wide range of subjects, including pensions, the proposed weakening of the public sector equality duties, and the effects of the public sector cuts on women. Keynote speakers included shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper and Brendan Barber, TUC general secretary.

FDA delegates spoke to the union's motion on the tax deficit, supported a composite motion on the public sector equality duty, and supported an emergency motion on the NHS.
