Union to hold climate change seminar on 5 February

The FDA is holding a half-day climate change seminar on 5 February 2010 at the union's head office near Waterloo in London. Colin McAllister, climate change training manager at the Met Office, is leading the event, which will look at climate predictions, mitigation of climate change and methods of adapting to it. The seminar is fully booked, but please contact the FDA's Professional Skills for Government project manager, Neil Rider - at neil@fda.org.uk - to be put on a reserve list.

Rider said: "We need to look further than people's day job in considering what continuous professional development (CPD) should comprise. This is why we are working with the Met Office on this event for our union learning and employer reps. Potentially, climate change could affect a large number of our members in policy work they do and even in the offices they occupy."
