To mark the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day, and also to celebrate Women's History Month, the FDA hosted an evening reception open to women members and their guests on 16 March 2011. The event was run jointly with Prospect, and was held at the head office of both unions at 8 Leake Street in central London.
Speakers at the reception included FDA vice-president Sue Gethin and Prospect equality officer Sandie Maile. Ella Uziell-Hamilton from Westminster Explained - the training company helping to run the Women into Leadership event - gave a presentation on how far women have come in the past 100 years since the first International Women's Day, and shared some positive feedback from last year's Women into Leadership event. It was also announced that Women into Leadership 2011 will be held on 22 September.
