The FDA is active across Wales, representing civil servants and senior professionals working for the devolved administration, Welsh Government sponsored bodies and UK government departments.
Branches and sections making up FDA Wales are supported by a dedicated FDA Wales National Officer, Gareth Hills, who represents members working in all areas of devolved responsibility, including:

National Officer for Wales
Gareth is the FDA's National Officer for Wales, covering employers both devolved and reserved there.
Gareth was born in Bridgend and raised in Blaengarw, a mining village at the head of the Garw Valley. After attending Ynysawdre secondary school he studied History at Aberystwyth University.
Gareth spent 34 years as a Civil Servant in HMRC before leaving at the end of February 2020 to start as National Officer for FDA Wales. Gareth has over 20 years’ experience in various FDA senior lay official roles – including leading pay negotiations, bargaining on changes to terms and conditions, and providing personal representation and support to members.
A devolved Wales representative sits on the FDA's Executive Committee, to represent the views of Welsh members.
