Who is the FDA for?
FDA membership is available to staff in all government departments, agencies and arm’s-length bodies who are either:
- Grades HEO (or equivalent)and above;
- On the Civil Service Fast Stream scheme, or equivalent training schemes;
- Working for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) at any grade.
We have members from across the public sector, and across the country. Whether you work in policy or operations, Leeds or Belfast, HR or finance, the House of Commons or the Ministry of Justice, you can become part of the FDA.
How much does FDA membership cost?
We charge monthly subscriptions on a sliding scale, based on your salary and your grade.

FCO staff pay according to their salary (with the exception of HEO and SEO grades).
Legal trainees and Assistant Statisticians receive their first six months free
, then pay according to their salaries.

, then pay according to the Keystone rate.
Including Assistant Economists, trainees in HMRC and Ministry of Defense, and staff on the Treasury’s graduate scheme.
