Take part in our annual conference to help shape union policy
Policies agreed by the ADC determine the work of the FDA for the following year, giving delegates a direct influence on the priorities of the union and how it can improve the working lives of members. The conference is also accompanied by a week of webinars and sessions for members.
In addition to shaping union policy, the ADC is also a great opportunity to network with other members of the FDA and listen to expert speakers.
Guest speakers in recent years have ranged from former Conservative minister Rt Hon. David Gauke, Guardian Political Editor Pippa Crerar, First Civil Service Commissioner Gisela Stuart, journalist Lewis Goodall and Former First Minister of Wales Mark Drakeford, all of whom have also taken part in lively discussions with attendees.

The FDA annual conference is our opportunity, once a year, to come together as a union and is the only place where members, activists, the executive committee and staff get together to talk, debate issues and hear from interesting and influential speakers.

ADC 2027 will take place on Thursday 20 May in central London. Motions are put to the ADC and delegates are selected to attend through FDA branches, sections or centres, so if you’re interested in taking part you should speak to your local Branch/Section/Centre Secretary or Convenor for more information. You can find their contact details in the members’ portal.
Once Conference passes a motion, this agrees the policies of the union going forward. Find out which motions have been passed at recent ADCs – and therefore have become union policy – on the members’ portal.
