Hilary Benn MP and Red Box Editor Matt Chorley have been confirmed as guest speakers at the FDA’s 2019 Annual Delegate Conference (ADC), taking place on Thursday 9 May.
Member of Parliament for Leeds Central since 1999, Benn is a former Secretary of State in both the Department for International Development and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. As Chair of the Exiting the EU Select Committee, he currently plays a key role in examining the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department for Exiting the European Union.
In addition to Benn, the award-winning Editor of The Times’ Red Box political email and podcast, Matt Chorley, will also bring his unique political insight and humour to the conference stage.
Chorley has over a decade of experience covering politics, with previous stints at MailOnline, Independent on Sunday, Western Morning News and Press Association before joining The Times.
Along with expert speakers and networking opportunities, ADC offers members the chance to shape the work of their union. Policies agreed by ADC will determine the work of the FDA over the next 12 months, giving delegates a direct influence on the priorities of the union and how it can improve the working lives of members.
